Aberrant Left Coronary Artery

چکیده
RECENT advances in the successful surgical treatment of a number of congenital heart diseases have stressed the importance of diagnosis as a first prerequisite to proper management. Rosenbaum,1 in a recent article deprecated the continued use of "idiopathic hypertrophy of the heart" as a nondescript term for heart conditions in infancy and early childhood, characterized by congestive cardiac failure, normal blood pressure, absence of cyanosis and murmurs, and without evidence of a shunt. The anomalous coronary artery was included in this group in the past. In 1911, Abrikosoff2 first described the existence of this anomaly; and in 1933, Bland, White, and Garland3 made the first antemortem diagnosis of this condition. Up to now 45 cases have been reported.2-37

Successful percutaneous coronary intervention in the setting of an aberrant left coronary artery arising from the right coronary cusp in a patient with acute coronary syndrome: a case report
BACKGROUND An aberrant origin of the left coronary artery (LCA) from the right coronary cusp (RCC) is an extremely rare congenital anomaly. We here report on successful percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in a patient presenting with acute coronary syndrome and an aberrant origin of the LCA from the RCC. CASE PRESENTATION A 50-year-old man presented at our emergency department with recur...
متن کاملCongenital Absence of Left Circumflex Coronary Artery
Congenital absence of left circumflex artery is a rare congenital anomaly of the coronary arteries. The prevalence of the anomaly in different studies ranges from 0.6% to 1.3%. Of these, 80% are benign and asymptomatic and 20% are clinically important. We report a 56-year-old man presented with acute resting chest pain who was diagnosed as having acute anterolateral infarction accompanied by el...
متن کاملAssociation Between Left Anterior Descending Artery Length with Coronary Artery Dominance: An Angiographic Study
Introduction: Although left anterior descending (LAD) artery supplies a large portion of the myocardium, the amount of blood supply provided by LAD is depended on the length of the LAD. The aim of the current study was to evaluate the association between coronary artery dominance and LAD anatomic types in patients with normal epicardial coronary arteries. Methods:...
متن کاملAberrant Course of the Left Anterior Descending Coronary Artery Associated with Anomalous Left Circumflex Origin from the Pulmonary Artery By BERNARD
We have presented a two year nonoperative follow-up of an asymptomatic 14-year-old girl with an unusual anomaly of the coronary arteries. Systolic and diastolic murmurs heard preoperatively did not change following severance of a patent ductus arteriosus. Postoperative selective coronary arteriography revealed (1) anomalous origin of the left anterior descending artery from the right aortic sin...
